Dick Clark Passes Away at 82

On Wednesday April 18th America lost a TV legacy, known for his boy next door persona and fresh face Dick Clark, at the age of 82, passed away from a heart attack. As the well known host of American Bandstand and the Dick Clark’s New Years Rockin Eve special he shaped the music trends to the nation. As Aretha Franklin stated “You weren’t anyone unless you were on American Bandstand” Dick integrated the music of the 1950’s with not only playing popular white music but also African American music as well. He would receive death threats from the Ku Klux Klan when he moved his spin off of American Bandstand to Atlanta called the Dick Clark Show. Dick became loved by many and grew on the nation as an amazing television host. Dick’s ashes are said to be spread in the pacific ocean but no specific plans have been confirmed. Dick is survived by his wife, Kari Wigton, and three children from previous marriages.
